My husband, Tom, and I started our own Liberty Tax franchise in 2009. Prior to launching our own business, I worked for a marketing company, while Tom spent ten years as a mortgage broker. Then, at age 45, we made the adventurous decision to work for ourselves.

Tom graduated from OIT with a degree in accounting, and he had always wanted to pursue his passion. We made financial sacrifices for our family in order for our tax business to succeed. Eventually, it became a family business; our 18-year-old son even joined our staff.

Now in our 11th tax season, we still strive to better ourselves and better our business. We take courses, read books, listen to training podcasts, join mentor programs, hire coaches, and attend retreats so that we can be the best for our customers, employees, and community. The more we learn, the more fun the tax process becomes.

After 32 years of marriage, Tom and I love working together, and we truly enjoy helping people along the way. As we move into a new decade, we look forward to learning, growing, and helping our customers navigate their way through 2020 with our Liberty Tax service.
